Delanie's First 24 Hours

Well, our little girl's first day was a real learning experience. Delanie is very alert for a newborn. Several nurses made comments about her awareness, but considering she baked for two extra weeks, maybe it isn't a huge surprise. Her eyes were open most of the day, looking at whoever was talking to her. She also has learned that she likes to suck on her fingers, a lot. And she can somewhat hold her head up on her own. She's quite the charmer also. But all through the day she was really putting on a show of being a perfect, quiet little baby. And then nighttime rolled around. Nighttime=Delanie's active time. Her Mommy and Daddy did not get very much sleep, until around 5 am. Delanie did not want to sleep very much during the night. Any time it looked like maybe she was quiet and content, she would perk back up and start crying again. Both Delanie and her parents have a strong learning curve ahead!
